clc blocks are a cement-bonded material which is produced by mixing cement slurry with stable, pre-formed foam. The foam is injected inside the slurry to produce a light-weight concrete. The volume of the slurry dictates the density of the foam concrete.
The slurry is mixed in a mixer with water and cement. Then the slurry is poured into moulds for production of bricks. After that, the slurry is allowed to set for at least eight hours. The finished product is then cut into blocks of the desired sizes.
In comparison to standard solid concrete and clay bricks, clc blocks are lighter in nature. Their density ranges from 600 to 800 kg/m3 and they weigh a minimum of 2 to 3 times less than the bricks made from clay or fly ash. This also reduces the dead load of the structure and construction cost.
They are environmentally friendly as they use industrial waste and have no harmful effluents released into the air or water during the manufacturing process. These lightweight blocks are termite and fire resistance.
Their durability and quality is better than traditional bricks. They can be used for a wide variety of construction projects and are easy to handle.
Earthquake Resistant: Because they are so light in weight, they can withstand higher earthquakes than traditional bricks. This makes them the best choice for people living in areas that experience high earthquake rates.
