The role of gypsum retarder 

Since gypsum building materials are light in texture, not easy to deform, have stable chemical properties after hardening, and will not crack when dry, the application of gypsum in daily life is very wide. The only shortcoming is the fast setting speed, so gypsum retarders are introduced. It can well control the setting time of gypsum, so that the gypsum can be fluid for a period of time, which can greatly reduce the waste and loss of gypsum and improve the efficiency of construction.

Sodium citrate has metal ion complexing ability, good pH adjustment and buffering performance. Sodium citrate is one of the most commonly used high-efficiency retarders for building gypsum. Sodium citrate has obvious retarding effect on gypsum and can be used as gypsum retarder. The coagulant is used, but the amount should not be too large, otherwise the strength of the plaster will be affected.

Usage of gypsum retarder

(1) The content of hemihydrate gypsum is 0.03%-0.5%;

(2)As the content of gypsum retarder increases, the setting time is prolonged;

(3)As the temperature increases, the content of gypsum retarder needs to be increased appropriately;

(4)Due to different types and properties of gypsum, the effect of gypsum retarder may be different, so determine the dosage before use.

Application of of gypsum retarder

This product is suitable for plaster products such as plastering plaster, bonding plaster, caulking plaster, plaster putty, and prefabricated plaster components.
